Melissa's Review:

Sweet Tea and Sympathy is book 1 in the Southern Eclectric series. I started with book 2 of this and of course had to backtrack since I enjoyed it so much. I love Molly Harper's writing style, it adds in humor plus has a great romance mixed in. If you haven't tried this series out yet, I highly recommend it.

We start off with our leading lady, Margot Cary who is a party planner. After a major incident at one of her events that involved flamingos and the host having an allergic reaction Margot's out of a job and not knowing what to do next. Her failure went viral and when a long lost relative contacts her to offer a job, Margot jumps at the chance. She heads to Lake Sackett, Georgia and meets her father's family. The job she moved for is to work at her family's business, the McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop. Yes, you read that right and that should tell you how eccentric some of the characters will be. This wouldn't be a romance without a love interest, so while out having a girl's night at the bar with her cousins, she meets a man (Kyle Archer) and some sparks are seriously flying. We later find out he's the Elementary school principal. Margot's hesitant to date him due to him having two young girls, and he doesn't want to have anything serious because of his girls. They wind up deciding to keep it casual, since neither is looking for a real relationship and who knows how long Margot is going to stay in town. That being said it doesn't take long for feelings start to form and I knew issues would arise when one/both of them noticed it.

Sweet Tea and Sympathy is an entertaining read with quirky characters you're going to love. The family is rather colorful and you're going to be so entertained by some of their antics. The romance aspect was well done as always and I can't wait to read more books in this series. If you're a fan of Contemporary Romance with a dash of humor you need to try this series out.
