Melissa's Review:

One Tough Cowboy is book 1 in the Moving Violations series. This is written by Lora Leigh and Veronica Chadwick and they grabbed my attention with the sexy sheriff on the cover that's for sure. The book has some serious steam and a really nice suspense factor mixed in. The duo really did a good job with the plot since I didn't see some of the things coming.

Samantha (Sam) Ryder is back in town to settle her Aunt's affairs after she passed. It doesn't take long before in walks the sexy Sheriff of Deerhaven, Hunter Steele. He helped her get out of scrapes when she was young and now his "Pixie Pest" is all grown up and he can't stop thinking about her. Sam has been working as a police officer for the Detroit PD and is determined to get to the bottom of her Aunt's death. It was suspicious to her and after learning there are two more equally suspicious deaths not too long back and she's on the case. Hunter and Sam start looking into the clues and he's really worried that investigating will put them next on the list. As they get closer to unraveling the details, the situation gets dangerous. I couldn't put the book (audiobook) down towards the end.

One Tough Cowboy is a super steamy read that you'll love. I wound up really liking the suspense angle being involved and need to add more of that genre into my TBR. While I loved the characters I felt a bit disconnected with them while listening. I'm not sure if that was my reaction to the book or outside elements in my life affecting my mood while listening. Either way this book is worth a read and if you're a fan of Romantic Suspense you're going to love it.

Savannah Richards did a great job at channeling the characters. Her voice was a really good fit and I'm glad I got exposed to a new to me narrator. I'll be grabbing the next audiobook format in this series since I had a good time with this one.
