Melissa's Review:

Beyond Scandal and Desire is book 1 in the Sins for All Seasons series. Lorraine really knocked this one out of the park for me, I loved the hero even though his intentions were not quite honest at the beginning. And I enjoyed seeing Aslyn's character grow with each page.

We start off meeting Mick Trewlove, the illegitimate son of a duke. He's trying to get acknowledged by the duke as legitimate but as you can imagine the duke will have nothing of the kind. Mick takes matters into his own hands and seeks to wreck the duke's son's reputation and to steal his soon to be fiancee. Mick didn't count on Lady Aslyn Hastings actually tempting him and protective feelings start to blossom. As he's closing in on cornering his brother's fate I was getting a bit anxious to see how Aslyn and Mick would get this to work out. I knew it would be a big reveal but I didn't quite expect what happened.

Beyond Scandal and Desire kept me on my toes and is a must read for historical romance lovers! I already know I'll be grabbing the next book as soon as it's out since I enjoyed this one so much. The family of illegitimate children were so tight knit, I'm hoping one of them is featured as the lead in the next novel. All in all, if you enjoy historical romance you'll need to try this new series.
