Melissa's Review:

Night Broken is book 8 in the Mercy Thompson series. I've been trying to binge listen to this series to catch up before the next book releases. It's so easy to do with such a lovely narration and the plot keeping your interest in each installment. This time around Mercy is dealing with her husband's ex-wife living in their house due to a stalker.

Mercy Thompson is a coyote shifter that works as a mechanic. She's married to the local werewolf alpha, Adam Hauptman and is finally getting more acceptance as the only coyote shifter in a pack of wolves. Mercy wasn't thrilled about the news that Adam's ex-wife Christy needs a safe haven but offers their house and protection anyway. What she didn't count on was the stalker that is after Christy will follow her anywhere and he'll stop at nothing to get her back. The pack quickly goes back to their old ways when Christy enters the picture and all the crap she pulls annoyed me oh so much. I kept wishing she'd just leave but I have to admit it did make for an interesting listen. The bad guy in this one is, of course, the stalker, and he's more than meets the eye. It all leads up to a big battle and I was worried that not everyone would survive it.

Night Broken was a great addition to the series, it had action, drama and a ton of paranormal creatures that I've come to adore. I finally get to see the pack dynamic but this time it's warped a bit because Christy manages to wrap everyone around her little finger. I enjoyed seeing a new type of paranormal being but dang I feel like the villains are getting stronger and stronger as the novels progress. All in all, though this series is going strong and if you haven't read this series yet I recommend you grab it!

  1. Binging might not be the way to go. You might want to draw it out a bit. There was a series that I got into several books in. I rushed to catch up. And then I was stuck waiting for each new installment after that. If only I hadn't been in such a hurry, a couple installments might have come out so I could keep the reading going without having to wait. Just a thought.

    1. lol I'm already caught up at this point, I'll just move on to the next series until a new one comes out though :)

    1. Ohh girl, I was saying that exact thing the entire book lmao

  3. I really need to catch up on this series. The last book I read was when they got married. Then I sort of fell behind. I'll have to reread the last book I read... or maybe I'll listen to it. It sounds like the narrator did a great job.

    1. Highly recommend the audiobooks in this series, I firmly believe it's the only reason I was able to catch up so quickly. The narrator rocks!
