A to Z - Zebras

A to Z Challenge - Z

I wound up picking zebras as my letter Z because I got in a discussion with Drea about were animals.

Check out our previous A-to-Z posts: W, X, Y

So Drea and I were talking about different types of shifters and how there are some odd ones out there. One we haven't seen are werezebras. Google only showed one book and now I'm wondering why there aren't more werezebras out there! I mean, I've read a book about werehedgehogs, why no zebra love?

What's the oddest were animal in a book you've read? I think werehedgehog or wereshark would be my pick!

A to Z - Urban Fantasy Favorites

A to Z Challenge - U

Urban Fantasy

One of my favorite genres has to be Urban Fantasy. See a few of my favorites below!

Check out our previous A-to-Z posts: R, S, T

I think my favorite would be the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, but I already did a post about that series so I'll leave it out. So here are a few of my other top Urban Fantasy reads!

This series is so different from most of the books in this genre but they are a must read.

This series was really great on audiobook. I still need to catch up on later in the series though.

I'd love to hear some of your favorite Urban Fantasy books!

A to Z - Sandy James

A to Z Challenge - S

Sandy James

I got addicted to Sandy James' books back when she wrote her Amazon series. I fell in love with her contemporary books after that. She's a must read!

Check out our previous A-to-Z posts: P, Q, R

Thanks so much for stopping by to do a Q&A with me, Sandy! I'll start out easy on you ;)

1) I'm always looking for more of your books to come out. What's your next release and can you tell us a little bit about it?

You’re such a sweetheart! I’m so happy you enjoy my stories!
I just finished a book called Can’t Walk Away. It’s the first book in my new Nashville Dreams series, and it debuts on September 13th. Take a tortured alpha hero who can write incredible love songs and pair him with a woman who sings like an angel but guards her heart because of a past betrayal. Makes for a nice combustible mix! The hero is one of three owners of a bar/restaurant/performance hall called Words & Music that I modeled after the Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon. Can’t Walk Away is a contemporary story packed full of music, romance, and twists.

2) If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Nope. I felt really good writing “The End” on this one. It was an idea I developed with help from my agent Joanna MacKenzie and her partners Danielle Egan-Miller and Abby Saul. I think we made a great team, and I know they helped me create a world of characters that I can grow as the series moves along. Right now, I’ve got books planned for the three owners of Words & Music, but I can easily expand the series should my readers enjoy it.

3) What genre of books least appeals to you and why?

Although I’m inspired by classic literature, I have a difficult time reading them. I tend to avoid anything written before I was born. Although I have to say that I was invited to read a chapter of To Kill a Mockingbird for the anniversary celebration at our local Barnes & Noble, and I did enjoy it. It’s just very difficult for me to get into a book with dated narrative.

4) What is your favorite thing to do that isn't related to writing?

Spend time with my grandson, John! He’s going to be two in June, and he keeps me putting one foot in front of the other. My husband has been very ill with colon cancer, and knowing that we can Facetime or see John has helped us more than we ever thought possible. He makes us smile, laugh, and keep living.

5) If you were stranded on a desert isle, what five things would you want to have with you?

I’d need a copy of every Julie Garwood historical romance (which I only count as one, hope that’s not cheating). I’d have to be able to listen to some music, so a loaded iPod with a lifetime of battery life. I couldn’t live without caffeine, so give me some coffee, and I’ll find a way to fix it. Since I hate to be alone, I’d drag my husband along, whether he wanted to go or not. Besides, I’ve been his caretaker and advocate for so long, I’m not sure I could make it through a day without him. And finally, I’d bring my new miniature schnauzer puppy, Max. He’d miss me if I left.

The series that I started out reading by Sandy James is part of a huge sale right now! If you like paranormal romance, I think you'd love these!

Sandy will be giving away one ebook of the winner's choice from her backlist.

Rules: One entry per person, all fake entries will be deleted. Giveaway starts on 4/22/16 at 12:00am and will end on 5/6/16 at 11:59pm. The winner will be notified via email and asked which ebook they would like.
