Official Blurb:
When life gets tough and love is hard to find, four friends take their troubles to lunch. High school teacher Danielle Bradshaw deserves a happily ever after, and the Ladies Who Lunch are determined to deliver Mr. Right.

As the new head of the English department, Dani doesn’t have much time for anything but lesson planning and literature. Romance—or even sex? Forget about it. But then the principal introduces her to last-minute hire Nate Ryan. Finding time to mentor a new teacher won’t be easy, especially when his incredible body and equally disarming charisma are enough to make her heart skip a beat . . .

Nate may be fresh out of school, but he’s confident in his teaching skills—and in his feelings for Dani. But while she’s everything he’s ever wanted, he knows his place on her staff—and his age—may be problematic for his sexy boss. How can he convince her to ignore the gossip mill currently in full swing in the teacher’s lounge and surrender to what’s meant to be?

Melissa's Review:

Danielle (Dani) Bradshaw is ready for school to start again so her normal schedule is back on track. She's a beloved English teacher and tries to make the subject interesting for the kids. The day before school starts, a curve ball is thrown at her when she is asked to show a new hire teacher the ropes and prepare him, his classroom, and the course load for school tomorrow.

Nate is the new English teacher hired on at the school, he recently graduated and is one of those cute young teachers that the female students will fawn over. The attraction between Dani and Nate is instant, but Dani doesn't want to act on it since she's pretty much his boss and also 8 years older than him. They admit there is a mutual attraction when they're locked in a room together and wind up almost kissing when they're rescued. Things escalate when Dani invites Nate to move into her basement apartment, so he doesn't have to stay at the not so great extended stay motel in town.

I really enjoy SJames's writing style, while it does mainly focus on the main couple to be, SJames includes The Ladies Who Lunch and their significant others to make it feel more realistic. So Dani's friends go out with her every now and then, and you even get little additional glimpses into Dani's thoughts when she's talking to her BFF's about Nate. This adds that extra oomph that just makes the story even better, while also getting to know the main character (Dani) better.

Light and romantic, Fringe Benefits is everything you could hope for in a contemporary romance. I'm sad to say this is the last book in The Ladies Who Lunch series, but it was executed beautifully. Though you don't have to, I'd suggest reading Turning Thirty-Twelve so you're introduced to Nate's character (when he was in college) and his family. You absolutely don't have to, but it gives you a bit more of a background, plus if you're addicted to SJames's books like I am, you'll want to. I love this series, and highly suggest it if you're looking for a contemporary romance.
