Bliss Edwards is an everyday college student, that just so happens to be a virgin. Her BFF finds out, and vows to help Bliss land a guy. They head out to a bar and promptly start drinking. Bliss tends to over think things, which attributes to her choice in getting a bit of liquid courage before scoping out some guys. Not shy anymore, she chats with a hunky intellectual that is reading Shakespeare. They chat about a few things, then head back to her place. Right before they're about to do the deed, Bliss starts spouting off nonsense due to nerves. I have to admit this was one of the funnies scenes I've read in awhile.

[I removed some of the text to only show what they said]
"Stop! Cats! Stop..."
"Sorry, love. Did you say cats?"
"Yes, I can't do this... right now. Because... I have a cat. Yes, I have a cat that I need to, um, get? Take care of! I have to take care of my cat! So... I can't do this."

Needless to say, she doesn't have a cat.

The next day, she walks into class to see her new professor is none other than Garrick, the hunky intellectual from the bar. Talk about awkward. I was actually surprised and really pleased on how Losing It was handled. I would normally expect the teacher to be the instigator, but this wasn't the case. Both tried to stay away from each other, but were brought together until it couldn't be held back. And so you're not making the grossed out face, Garrick is only a year or two older than Bliss, so we're not talking a huge age difference.

Losing It is one of the few New Adult books that I've read that knocks it out of the park. I read this series out of order, so I had a brief introduction to the main characters in this book. That wasn't a huge deal though, so these can definitely be read out of order. I loved this book and highly recommend you pick it up!

  1. I on the other hand, skimmed this. Didn't enjoy the story and the humor. Eep! I feel like I'm sinning after saying that because I know a lot of people, including you, obviously love it! Maybe I'm too uptight... *pats the stick up my a$$* yup, still there...

    1. Lol it's okay. I get in moods and that affects my reading. I'm thinking I was in a NA mood. Maybe you werent or just didn't connect with her style :)

  2. Ahh I have this one on my shelf...waiting. I read the novella with it and loved that just haven't managed the time to get back to it. I love those funny run into each other things like that with him being her teacher. Glad to hear ya had a good time with it.

  3. I haven't read any reviews of this book until now but I've seen it everywhere, this definitely makes me want to pick it up though :) Glad to hear you enjoyed it
