Emory, former ballerina, turned into photographer can't commit to her fiancee Eric. Figuring out he isn't the one she breaks off the engagement and that same night she runs into her college sweetheart. Mason is a NFL player recovering from an arm injury. He is going through a divorce and has not forgotten his former love Emory. There are quite a few bumps in the road for their relationship ranging from Emory hiding something from the past to Mason not telling Emory important things.

I enjoyed First Position, it had a decent plot, though somewhat predictable. It is a contemporary romance that has a lot of drama. The strongest point(s) of the book are the characters, almost all of them felt like old friends by the end of the book. I suggest this book if you enjoy contemporary romance.

  1. been on a sort of contemporary fix lately...but I now need my males to be crazy & hard-headed. Lols.

great review Melissa. You always keep it so nice & simple..wish I could do that. I usually end up all over the place :)

  2. Hmmm I'd pick this up if the plot was a little humorous, with the drama you mentioned, I feel it's a little cliche. I only read a handful sports themed romance and right now, I love Jami Davenport's football novels. I want to try Toni Aleo next.

  3. I might have to try this one. I love second chances at love storylines :)
