Mascara - Fairy Drops, Benefit - They're Real

I have had these for at least a month now, so I thought I would do a review. These are my two favorite mascaras.

1. Fairy Drops
The wand is odd but really great for getting every lash. It has fibers mixed into the formula which lengthens your lashes. I have been using this mascara for about two months now and I am in love with it. This is NOT waterproof, but I love it and plan to buy another as soon as it runs out.

2. Benefit - They're Real
I tried this mascara while at Sephora and could see a HUGE difference. The wand is weird, it has little rubber type things sticking out which gets almost all of the lashes. The formula curls them and makes them long. It is not waterproof, but I don't really like waterproof mascara. This looks really natural but makes your eyelashes look sexy. Do yourself a favor and go buy this!

Liquid Eyeliner - Kat Von D, NYC

I recently purchased two different liquid eye liners to see which I would like better. Both are black and not waterproof.

1. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - Trooper
The tip is pretty much like a paint brush. I loved it in the store but it is kind of a pain to actually use sometimes. Sometimes it just takes one stroke for it to be perfect, other times it takes around 10 strokes to get a dark line. I have been using this every day for the last 2 weeks and it seems to have gotten better as I have used it. When I first opened this eyeliner it would barely make a line, now I can do one stroke to get a good line.
Two strokes on the thin line, one stroke on the thick line pressed firmly. This does not smudge or flake as the day goes on.
Me (making a weird face) after wearing the eyeliner for about 8-10 hours. It hasn't budged at ALL.

2. NYC High Definition Eyeliner - 889 Extra Black

The tip is like a felt tip pen. I find it super easy to apply and is great for beginners.

I did two lines so you guys could see how thick/thin you can apply it. This was one stroke on each line, so you can tell how dark it is. I rubbed it about 30 minutes after I made the lines and both smudged slightly.

Pin Interest Invitation

If you would like a Pin Interest invitation ( let me know and I will send you one. The site is currently invitation only. Just leave your email address in the comment section. I will have my comments set to be screened so it should not display your email address to anyone but me.

Pin Interest is a virtual pin board, where you can be inspired by other people's pins. It is super easy to use, and helps you locate things quickly. I've already done quite a few recipes I found on there and craft projects. You can pin pretty much anything you want to, it gives you a link that you can save on your bookmarks/toolbar. You click the link whenever you are on a page you would like to share with Pinterest. It lets you choose what picture you would like to add as the main image and it then shows up on all of your followers feeds. You can add your friends or people with similar interests so you can see what they pin as well. Get pinning! :)

The Night Circus

Book: The Night Circus
Author: Erin Morgenstern
Rating: 5/5

This book was AMAZING. It has so many details that you feel that you are actually there while reading. It was so in depth that you can see and feel all of the characters. I have never read a book that I was in love with this much, and I can only hope that the author continues to write such great work. The book is set in the 1800's - 1900's, though I can almost guarantee that you will not be able to tell. It just seems as if she gives enough detail that it feels like home, something you fully understand and are surrounded by in day-to-day life.

Celia is the female lead, you will first meet her as a child and watch how she grows into adulthood. Her father places Celia in a long lasting duel with a rival magician's person of choice. Marco, the boy that the rival magician chooses is just as interesting as Celia. You find yourself wanting to know more and more about the rules of the duel, but at the same time you are so enthralled by the masterpieces that the two are creating in the circus. There are way too many characters to name, but you will learn about each of them in the book and each one has their own part in the story.

Just do yourself a favor and go purchase this book right now!

MyGlam January 2012

My MyGlam bag shipped Thursday 1/12/12, but I thought I would give you a preview of what is in the bag! I received my bag 1/17/12.

I believe the only sample size item is the wen cleansing conditioner. It appears to be a 2oz sample. The other products in this bag will be full size!

1// Freeman // Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask
2// SheerCover // Concealer
3// Wen // Cleansing Conditioner
4// TheBalm // Shady Lady // Eye Shadow OR TheBalm // Hot Ticket // Nail Polish
 1// Freeman // Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask
  •  Goes on clear and starts to dry immediately, though I did put on a thin coat. Smells fresh and made my skin soft! I did not like how it peeled in pieces, it took longer to peel it than put it on.
 2// SheerCover // Concealer
  • Light/Medium are the colors that came in this duo. My skin seems to be in between but more on the light side. It is a super creamy formula and very easily to blend.
 3// Wen // Cleansing Conditioner
  •  Used it, loved it. Realized my hair was shedding more than usual so I did some research. It appears Wen causes hair loss in some people, and it looks like I am one of those people. Gee, thanks MyGlam :( Glad it wasn't that big of a sample!

4// TheBalm // Hot Ticket Nail Polish
  • Color is cute, though it needed a few coats to be fully opaque. Will update to say how long it lasts before chipping.
  • Excuse the attempt at nail stamping, it was my first try :)

NYC Nail Polish

I just went to CVS and they had a ton of beauty products on sale (50% off). I picked up the NYC Long Wearing Nail Polish in the color Big Apple Red Creme not knowing there was a sale on it. I didn't see any discounts on the product. I got up to the register and it was 25 cents (normal price 99 cents)! Go check out your local CVS for the beauty deals.
