Melissa's Review:

A Cast-Off Coven is book 2 in A Witchcraft Mystery series. I'm really enjoying this series so far, it has a good balance of cozy mystery and paranormal. The characters are engaging and it's really working well for me. I do prefer the audiobook format on these, I think because the narrator rocks and it makes it a super fast "read".

This time around our leading lady, Lily Ivory is going to the San Francisco School of Fine Arts to do a little bit of investigating. The kids that go there are buzzing about ghostly activity and the school found some Victorian-era clothes in a storage closet that had been locked up for years and offered to let her have them. While Lily and a few others are looking around one night, they wind up finding a dead body at the foot of the stairs. Lily is convinced this is murder and the killer isn't the ghost so she's on the case. This installment was a bit more intricate in the multiple plots compared to book one but really well done.

A Cast-Off Coven continues with a strong addition to a paranormal cozy mystery series I need to binge read soon. I already know I'll grab book 3 as soon as I finish up my current audiobook since I'm loving this series. Lily's character keeps things interesting and I adore her familiar Oscar. If you're a fan of paranormal mysteries try this series out!
