Melissa's Review:

Moonshadow is book one in the Moonshadow series, which is a spin off of the Elder Races series. This book revolves around a witch consultant that heads to the UK and gets mixed up in a battle between the light and dark courts. I've enjoyed the other THarrison book I've read so I knew I had to grab this one, the whispersync addition to the ebook format was a steal too.

Sophie Ross is a witch consultant for the LAPD on leave from an injury. She's approached by a woman that might hold details on her childhood. You see, Sophie was adopted at a young age and all she knows is that she was placed with witches because while she's mostly human the man that saved her knew she had a touch of something else. The woman didn't have much more information than Sophie already knew though, but she did offer the task of getting into a family estate that no one can get into it and if she succeeded it would be hers. Since she's still recovering mentally and physically from the shooting she decides to take her up on the offer and heads to the UK. Her path crosses a knight of the Dark Court and winds up getting entangled in their battle with the Light Court.

Nikolas Sevigny is a Daoine Sidhe knight of the Dark Court. He and Sophie meet and team up once they fight in an unexpected battle and decide they can trust one another. During that time they're constantly butting heads about pretty much everything. It was quite entertaining to hear them sniping back and forth. Nikolas helps Sophie get into the estate and with her help the other Daoine Sidhe knights gather for longer than an hour for the first time in years. You see, while they're together for too long, their energy can be sensed by the Light Court and they'll be attacked. With Sophie's magic and the estate's land magic they hope to go undetected. The battle still manages to find them though, and someone seems to be leaking important information. Sophie and Nikolas have to figure out who is behind it before it's too late.

Moonshadow is the first Paranormal Romance book in a long time that had me hooked from the start. Color me impressed, I really liked the author's writing style and Sophie and Nikolas were so entertaining. Sophie had no problem telling Nikolas when he was being a caveman and telling her what she's going to do versus asking her to do something. I found that refreshing instead of seeing a pushover. The paranormal aspects were well done and I really can't wait to get the next book. If you're a fan of Paranormal Romance, you're going to adore this book!

  6. oh I am so glad that you enjoyed this one. I don't know why, but I haven't read this author in a while. I have read the first few books of her Elder Races, but for some reason just stopped even though I love her writing....odd right? Your wonderful review is a good reminder I need to return to this author.

I like that this book impressed you so much, and that is definitely a good sign for me when I get around to picking this one up. Hope you had a wonderful holiday.
