Melissa's Review:

Pierced is a New Adult standalone novel about a college girl that's a wolf shifter. I've been craving paranormal romance lately so this fit the bill nicely. This is my first time reading a book by Keira Blackwood and I wound up enjoying it. I'll be checking out some of her other novels in the future.

Hannah Lewis is your everyday college girl that happens to be a wolf shifter. Hannah and her human roommate, Ashley have heard about a killer on the loose and they decide to go hunting for a vampire. Hannah does this more to appease and protect her BFF since Ashley's convinced that the killer is a vampire and determined to find him. Image their surprise while they're out searching the streets to actually stumble across three vampires. One of the vampires in the group happens to be Bennet Pierce, he's instantly drawn to Hannah but isn't sure why. Throughout the novel, Bennet is keeping a close eye on Hannah in case the vampire that's doing all the killings decides to make a play for her. As the book progresses we learn a bit more about the vampire politics and Bennet must choose if he wants to follow his King's orders or risk himself for choosing what he believes in.

Pierced had me intrigued on what would happen next. I wasn't sure if Bennet would be able to go against his superior's orders. Then the whole killer vampire on the loose situation and Hannah's BFF making dumb decisions. The main story arc itself wrapped up well for the most part but I questioned bits about Ashley's character near the end. On the romance front, while I wouldn't call this instalove it was an instant attraction that neither character could comprehend. All in all, this was a good read and I'd suggest it if you're looking for a New Adult Paranormal Romance.
