Melissa's Review:

Borrowed Souls is book one in the Soul Charmer series. This is a brand new series that revolves around a girl recollecting souls for a soul charmer in order to save her brother. It has a unique plot and is a must read of any Urban Fantasy lover out there.

We start off finding out that Callie Delgado needs to rent a soul in order to save her brother from the mob. She's the kind of gal that will do anything for her family even if they don't treat her the best. Callie heads to a soul charmer and manages to strike a bargain with him. In return for renting her a soul, she'll repo souls for two weeks from customer's that haven't returned them. Callie winds up teamed with Derek and they meet some interesting people along the way. The only issue that arises on the job is that someone is taking/stealing some of the rented souls before Callie and Derek can get to them and the soul charmer is not pleased. Our duo has to figure out who is behind this and why.

Borrowed Souls is a refreshing change of pace in a genre I adore. CMueller did a great job in coming up with unique content and I enjoyed the world and characters. I was really intrigued on the soul rental aspect. The idea behind renting souls is that any smut/sin that would get on your soul during that time will be on the rented one instead. So you have people renting souls to rob places, have fun with hookers, or just because they're addicted to it. Cool premise and I cannot wait to see what the next book brings. If you're a fan of Urban Fantasy and looking for something new and different, give Borrowed Souls a try!
