Melissa's Review:

Devil in Winter is book three in the Wallflowers series. I haven't read this series before, so I was glad to see this could be read as a standalone novel. It's a historical romance that has a marriage for convenience type aspect to it. I wound up loving this book and now I need to backtrack and read the rest of the books!

We start off meeting Evangeline Jenner, she's at her wit's end and is willing to do anything to not marry her cousin. You see, her father is on his deathbed and the relatives she lives with are trying to secure her inheritance when he passes by marrying her off to her cousin. As a last ditch effort, Evangeline approaches Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent with an offer he cannot refuse. If they marry he gets money that he needs, and she won't have to deal with her relatives. It's a pretty fair deal even if they're not in love. So the couple rushes off to be wed, but don't you know issues and feelings will arise as time ticks by.

I wound up falling in love with Sebastian's character. He starts off as only wanting the money but he turns into a kind and caring man towards Evangeline. He'll never be the picture perfect gentleman and I think that's why I loved his character so much. Devil in Winter was a delight to read with well-written characters that you'll fall in love with. I recommend this for fans of Historical Romance with a marriage of convenience added in.

  1. Oh this is one of my favorites!!! Like honestly, I have no idea how many times I have read it. I love Sebastian and Evie together and Sebastian just wins you over. You will love the other books... They are all different and fit the characters just right
