September Recap

September is over! I cannot wait for the cooler weather *happy dance* October is going to be crazy, but hopefully not too much. I'm getting married later this month and I'm trying to set up a ton of blog posts ahead of time so I don't have to stress more than I already will. If you're a blogger join me and quite a few others in the Blog Ahead challenge! It's hosted by Herding Cats & Burning Soup and I always join in when this time rolls around. It's great to give yourself a goal and have so much support with fellow bloggers!

  1. I think a wedding is reason enough to take a blogging break. Congrats.

  3. Oh congrats on the wedding! Have a lovely time and enjoy the moment. Can I give one piece of advice? Don't let something that you find undone bother/upset you. If it's not done, you don't need it. :) Enjoy your day!

And you did great for September! :) Hope October is good for you too.

    1. You're so sweet, thanks so much for the advice :) It should be only a bit stressful since we're doing a destination wedding and most of the stuff I've booked already! All that's left is picking up the license when we get there and getting married. Probably the last few details like fun events to go to as well! :D

    3. What will stress me out is making sure everything goes the way it should haha I guess I'm a bit of a control freak that way. I'll try to relax and just take it as it comes though :)

    4. I hear ya. I just felt bad for my husband as I looked back at pictures and he looked miserable before we got married. Here, everyone was asking him questions because I was in the back and he didn't know what to do. I told him he shouldn't have worried about it. But afterward, well he had lots of fun with dancing and drinking. ;) lol. I just felt so bad for him as he shouldn't have felt that way.

I hope it's as beautiful and amazing as you deserve. :)

    5. *nods* I'm thankful for doing destination wedding, because I really thought if we stayed we'd wind up like how your hubby was! I have everything in my calendar so all I have to do is check the date and do whatever it says at this point. Trying to space things out like look for events 2 weeks before, or do the paperwork for the license the week before, etc. Just makes me a tad nervous to not know if whatever we sign up for will work out the way I want, or the rings back in time even though they said they would be lol

    6. Sounds like it's set up nicely to make things a little less stressful. That's wonderful. But, yes, I'd be worried about the little things too. With my luck... But sounds like you are on the right path! :D

    8. Oh you are so welcome! Glad to chat about it. :) And glad to let you vent a small bit.

We are doing well. So much going on! Especially with these college visits we are working on getting in. There are two this month, and I think two in November. My Saturdays are booked! lol.

    9. I wondered if there would be more college visits in the near future! That sounds exciting but you do sound fully booked :P I hope he winds up finding one he loves and it's not too far for yall to be able to visit. I'm sure he's nervous since he'll be on his own in college.

    10. Yep. More traveling to come. lol. It's neat seeing all these colleges though. I'm looking forward to seeing him find The One. lol. He use to want to go anywhere in the states for college. Now, he wants to stay closer to home. Which is nice to hear as we are a close family. But I want him to enjoy his time at college too, so I'm hoping he'll adjust well when he goes next year. *sigh* What it is to be young again. ;)

    11. Awww he'll adjust, it'll just take a little bit to get used to it. And he knows yall will just be a phone call away so that will reassure him I'm sure. It's probably better that he wants to do closer, for you + dad and him! Good luck!!

    12. Oh yeah. I have complete faith in him. I've been a tough mom. Not like mean but so that he learns things (like laundry and cooking) growing up so he's ready to be out on his own. That's what I'm raising him to do, right! ;)

We always told him if he's closer he'll see us and family more often, and if he does sports we can make it to see him play.

But, he may get there and love it so much he won't come home. ;D

      Thank you!!

    13. He will appreciate those things you've taught him later in life!!! I promise you that. So many of the kids leaving the nest have no clue how to do any of that and they're in for a rude awakening when they're on their own.

    14. lol. I've heard that from others. One co-worker told me about her nephew and how he didn't know how to do even laundry and adjusting to college life was difficult for it, along with other things too. I've worked to make sure he knows how to do it, now if he remembers in those first few shocking weeks? That's the question. ;D

      Delete
    15. lol he might "not remember" the first week or two but he'll get the hang of it quickly. Or if he's super close I wouldn't be surprised if he comes home to do laundry and see yall!

  4. I'm sure a blogging break is in order up to your wedding. Are you going on a honeymoon? I hope you have a great wedding.

You had so many great books this month. I love the cooler temps too. :-)

    1. No honeymoon this year, maybe next year! I'm in saving mode for a house and want to put away as much as we can. I'll probably skip my Thrifty Thursday post that week or whatever posts aren't scheduled :P

  7. This sounds like the perfect time for the Blog Ahead event for you. Congrats, girl! Hopefully this month goes by fast for you and you don't stress about it too much. Just remember that your wedding will be a beautiful moment no matter whether or not things go as planned. Plus, it's those little bumps that you get to look back on and smile at. Trust me, I got married during the biggest blizzard of the year :)
