Melissa's Review:

King is book one in the King series. The book focuses around King, a guy that was just released from prison, and Doe, a woman that has amnesia and no one to turn to. I've seen this book around for awhile now and have been wanting to try it so I'm glad I finally got around to it! I have a soft spot for the bad boys, so King was a perfect fit for me.

So as I mentioned, Doe has amnesia and has no clue who she is or where she's supposed to be. With no one looking for her, Doe winds up being homeless. She's taken under a hooker's wing and winds up at a house party. The plan was to snag a biker, become his old lady and basically not have to worry about anything. She'd have protection, food, shelter, everything she lacks out on the streets. What she didn't plan for was her hooker friend to steal King's money and abandon her. Doe is left to foot the bill and is pretty much King's prisoner. At least that's how it starts out, it doesn't take long before both Doe and King develops feelings for one another. King is extremely rough around the edges and does whatever he wants. He's going to be a love or hate type character, I wound up enjoying him for the most part, there were a few moments that I didn't love him, though.

King was a bit different from what I expected but in a good way. I wasn't sure what to think of Doe's character when the book started since she had amnesia and I feel like that's a crutch in some books. But I wound up seeing her evolve with each chapter and was rooting for her. King quickly had mixed feelings for her, pissed about how they met as well as intrigue since he can't get her out of his head. I was not very pleased with the ending, mainly due to the bombshell dropped and the story ending immediately. That being said I'm still curious about what happens next so more than likely I'll buy book two just to see. If you're been wanting to read KING, I'd suggest grabbing it, as well as book two so you're not left in my situation.

  2. This sounds like it's either gonna be a great book or fall flat for me. But I do love books featuring bikers. Great review!

    1. This mainly has the bikers in the occasional scene partying, King and his BFF aren't one but they deal with them *nods*

  3. Oh, I really hate cliffhangers. If the book was meh for me, I might not even care to find out how it all comes out.

    1. The amnesia books either work for me or really piss me off. This one didn't piss me off because of the amnesia at least lol

  9. Sounds like a really good book. I agree that amnesia can be a crutch in some books. Glad that wasn't the case here. I love that cover. Great review.
