Melissa's Review:

The Cowbear's Mail Order Bride is book 6 in the Curvy Bear Ranch series. I'm being bad and reading these out of order, but I had to grab this one when I saw it was a freebie. The book focuses on a woman on the run and a hunky werebear. Some of you might know that I love werebear books, and this book has me intrigued on the rest of the series.

Cindy Blythe is on the run from a possessive ex-husband that firmly believes that if he can't have her, no one can. She's been chatting online with a man and they decide to meet up so she heads to Montana, a place her ex will never think to look for her. When she gets there, she's surprised to find out that she hadn't been talking to Drew Grant at all, his sister-in-law was posing as him and trying to find him a suitable mate. Drew and most of his family are werebears and he's pretty much the last one to find a mate. Drew's grumbly about the whole situation but allows Cindy to stay for a bit of time before she has to go on her way again. Being a nice host, he takes Cindy around and the duo grows closer with each day.

The Cowbear's Mail Order Bride was a cute werebear romance that left me wanting to read the series of the series. I love when freebie books manage to pique my intrigue. I felt this was a bit light on the werebear action, I'm hoping it's more prevalent in the rest of the series but we'll see. I enjoyed Drew's character. I like those grumpy characters that are dead set against something then wind up changing their mind. All in all, this was a good read. If you're a fan of werebears or paranormal romance I suggest you try this series!

  1. I love werebears too. I don't have KU, so it isn't free for me. I have a tone of werebear books that I've picked up for free. Glad you enjoyed this one.

  3. I like reading were-bear stories. They tend to get overlooked for the more sleek wolves and felines. So I'm glad to see there's a whole series dedicated to them. :)

  4. I've been seeing the "mail order bride" thing a lot lately. Strange.

I recently read a werebear story that I got as a freebie. Not bad. I've found some favorite authors via a freebie book.
