Melissa's Review:

Quanta is book two in The Shadow Ravens series. Our leading lady is Quanta, a Red Helix, a person with powers that according to the government shouldn't be alive. She's been imprisoned for years by them, and is constantly getting tested in attemps to duplicate her abilities. You see, Quanta is able to see into the future, including all of the possible outcomes that comes with free will. To keep herself alive she's feeding the Seligo as little information as possible so she's deemed still useful to their cause. What they're currently using Quanta for is to hunt down the other Reds, and anyone that is part of the Shadow Ravens. The Shadow Ravens are a rebel group that is determined to overthrow the Seligo government.

Altair (aka Tair) Orpheus is a scientist that happens to secretly be a member of the Shadow Ravens. He's welcomed into the fold and assigned to Quanta. His Shadow Raven's mission is to play the part and figure out how to save Quanta. What neither he nor Quanta expected was the growing relationship that forms between them in such a dire situation. With no privacy, and a crazy guard dog of a scientist after Quanta I didn't see how they would be able to escape unscathed.

Quanta is a fast paced, engaging read that I couldn't put down. My favorite character was Quanta, she somehow kept herself sane with that power and being imprisoned. She knew what buttons to push to get her way depending on who was in the room, which I found entertaining. She's a strong character, that I can't wait to see more of in the future. All in all I really enjoyed Quanta, and suggest the series if you're looking for a bit of sci fi + romance.
