Melissa's Review:

Iced is book 6 in the Fever series. We now have Dani "Mega" O'Malley as the main character's POV. I wasn't really a fan of her POV in the previous audiobook, so I wasn't sure how I'd like this one. I guess she grew on me since I did enjoy it. Everything appears to be the same at the beginning until Dani and Ryodan team up to solve mysterious ice that is forming around Dublin. It's not just pesky ice on the street though, it's freezing people solid as if it happened with no warning. With no real clues, Dani and Ryodan have to solve this issue before Dublin is a winter wonderland.

As I said, Dani wasn't my favorite POV, but I find I'm growing to like her a bit more with each book. She's growing up, and yeah she thinks she's awesome and indestructible, but she's also finding out she isn't. I did have a slight ick type issue when listening to the book. Dani is in her teens (15 or 16, somewhere in there) and yet all the grown adult men seem to want her. Like seriously, there is a human/fae man that wants her to be his wife and thinks lusty thoughts of her and stalks her to protect her. It grossed me out a bit to be honest. Anyway, moving on. The fighting and non-stop trying to figure out what is going on was nice, as always. KMoning seems to excel in writing with that style and I can't get enough. The ending was a cliffhanger, so I need to listen to Burned (book 7) asap. I'm loving the series, and suggest it if you're looking for a fae Urban Fantasy.

  1. Yeah, I've heard there's a vaguely pedo feel to the book. I stopped reading after Shadowfever; I felt it was the best ending to the story, and for me the series WAS Mac and Barrons, not Dani. I never liked her as a character.
    Great review!

    1. *cough* It's not so vague in some spots, but yeah *shakes head* I kind of wish I had stopped but now I'm wondering what happens next since it ended on a cliffhanger lol!

    1. I was mixed at first, but wound up enjoying it. I missed Mac and Barrons the entire time though... So keep that in mind.

  5. I had serious ick problems with the men all liking Dani too. It was kind of a blessing she had no real clue what was going on. I did like Dani's "voice" better than Mac's. I spent 5 books being seriously pissed off with that chick. I was looking forward to Burned, but with finding out that we go back to the Mac and Barron show... sigh. I'm done.

    1. Uh huh *nods* I was glad to see that she was oblivious! That's probably why I was actually able to enjoy the book even with the ick factor

  6. I could not stand Dani in the previous books. It's to the point where I still haven't picked up Iced because I'm worried that I will not be able to finish it. I've read other reviews where people had issues with the young Dani and older men thing. As I remember I think there's even a blossoming or hopeful romance between her and Ryodan. I don't know about you but I always pictured him as an older 30 year old guy. >.< Bleh!

    1. That's exactly how I pictured him. And glad yall are saying I'm not the only one that got that vibe.
