Melissa's Review:

MacKayla Lane aka Mac returns in book two of the Fever series. This time around, Mac is attempting to figure out more about herself, her powers and who the heck is looking for the Sinsar Dubh besides her and Barrons. She's a bit less pink fluffy cheerleader type girl in this installment (barely), and is learning how to be more hard around the edges. Which is a good thing since her and Barrons have enemies at this point. I will say that if you disliked her character in book one, you won't like her in this installment either. Mac's still trying to get over the death of her sister, all while trying to get stronger, learn more about the sidhe-seers. The books are pretty fast paced and I found I'm liking the books more and more as I'm listening.

Melissa's Review:

MacKayla Lane aka Mac returns in book three of the Fever series. This time around there's going to be something big happen. I could feel it building as I was reading. Mac learns how the Sinsar Dubh is getting around and uses that knowledge to pit V'lane and Barrons against one another. I'm still curious on why the two despise one another. And what the heck is Barrons? I'm left with these questions (and more) on my mind while listening to the audiobooks and there seems to be no explanation in sight anytime soon. Now it's a race against the clock since something is building and the deadline seems to be All Hallows' Eve.

I've been marathon listening to these back to back since they've just been getting better and better. I highly suggest this series if you're a fan of Urban Fantasy. Just remember it gets better with each book.

  1. I remember liking book 1 but not as much as the others that I loved. One day I'll have to try Iced and the others.

  4. I liked these books, but not as much as everyone else. I stopped after Shadowfever. I thought it was a good ending to the series. I've heard the narration is wonderful. I might have enjoyed it more if I had listened rather than read the books. I'm glad you're enjoying them.

    1. It tripped me up, on book 4 they switched from one narrator (female) to two narrators (both new). But I think I've been enjoying the duo more so than the single. I think I'll probably read at least one more in the series, but I know what you mean. It does seem like it ended.

  5. Faefever is my favorite of the series. I fell in love with V'lane first before Barrons. He so sexy! I want to be his Priya!

  7. I loved this series! I couldn't stand the first book and nearly quit, but I'm glad I pushed through. Dreamfever and Shadowfever were my favorites. Mac goes through some serious character development, and Barrons....sigh. <3

  8. Ooh. A nice build followed by something big happening sounds wonderful. I haven't read the first in this series, so I added Darkfever to my TBR. I am definitely going to read it as soon as I clear out the books I have lined up for the summer. Thank you for your review.

  9. This is a great series. In all honestly though, I must have read the books three times now and I STILL don't know what the hell Barrons is. :\ If you figure it out you will need to let me know.
