Review: Archangel's Kiss

Title: Archangel's Kiss
Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Guild Hunter #2
Release Date: February 2nd 2010
Format: Audiobook
Source: Purchased
Buy: Amazon, BN

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux wakes from a year-long coma to find herself changed—an angel with wings the colors of midnight and dawn—but her fragile body needs time to heal before she can take flight. Her lover, the stunningly dangerous archangel, Raphael, is used to being in control—especially when it comes to the woman he considers his own. But Elena has never done well with authority.

They've barely begun to understand each other when Raphael receives an invitation to a ball from the archangel, Lijuan. To refuse would be a sign of fatal weakness, so Raphael must ready Elena for the flight to Beijing—and to the nightmare that awaits them there. Ancient and without conscience, Lijuan holds a power that lies with the dead. And she has organized the most perfect and most vicious of welcomes for Elena.

Elena Deveraux is a vampire hunter that works for The Guild. In book one of the series, Elena takes a job to track down an archangel that is killing people. This book deals with the ramifications of it. Elena was made into an angel by Raphael, he couldn't let her die so he made the decision to do something that isn't done, making a human an angel. Her healing takes forever, she was in coma for a year so all of her friends think she's dead or a vampire. It's quite shocking when they find out.

Raphael is quickly becoming one of my favorite alpha males. He is an archangel that is both beautiful yet deadly, I've seen his character grow from being an angel that doesn't care about humans and thinking they're beneath him, to getting a bit of humanity of his own. Elena is invited to a ball and most of the book contains Elena being trained on how to be an angel, she is straining herself so she will be ready because you know a fight will break out. While this book wasn't my favorite, I still enjoyed it. I'd recommend this series if you're looking for a good angel series with other paranormal beings.

  5. I love this series, and I love it even more as it has no religious aspects at all.

  6. I listened to this series on audiobook and LOVED it. I have been a big fan of the Psy/Changling but wasn't sure about this one. But this time last year I was looking for audiobooks to listen to for my long commute and figured I had already done the Karen Marie Moning Fever series (and really disliked it) so what could it hurt. I can't wait to get the newest book, in audio of course. :) Keep going with it, some of the books are better than others and will include other characters romances along the series.

  7. I want more of the Seven, lols. I love Raphael & Elena (a lil...) But I want more of the seven now. She needs to write more stories on them and stop messing around man, lols.
