Joanne Baldwin returns in book two of the Weather Warden series, this time around she's a Djinn. David, the Djinn in book one that joined Joanne on her journey helped her become a Djinn, but at what cost? With everyone against her, Joanne must learn to harness her new powers and it's another race against the clock. The duo notice some odd power is lingering only to realize there is a huge problem at hand that is growing rapidly. David is sadly, absent for most of the book, so Joanne is told to learn to master her powers under the tutelage of the only other human that successfully became a Djinn.

This time the book focuses mainly on Djinn, after reading book one I was curious about them. All I really knew was that Wardens were able to use their energy and that they were servants to whatever Warden had their bottle. While this held true in Heat Stroke, I got to learn more and it rounded out the story quite nicely. I can't wait to see what issue arises for Joanne in book three. So far I'm enjoying the series, and recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

  1. Oh yes. I remember that one. The Djinn are fascinating. The spin off focuses on them-- or well a fallen Djinn that's been forced into being human-- which is kinda neat.

  3. What an interesting myth and world building. I haven't read any of her books, I will most def try this than her YA vampire series.
