Drea's Review:
I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Improperly handled genetic experimentation brings about the dawn of a new, dominant race—dragons. As a rare dragonspeaker, Myrna’s job is to mediate between dragons and humans. But when the man who betrayed her a year ago, leaving her with a demotion and a broken heart, turns up needing help on behalf of his dragon boss, Myrna takes a chance at a job opportunity of a lifetime. She only wishes she weren’t still hopelessly attracted to Trian, especially since they’ll be working closely together to avert a dragon on dragon war.

This story has everything I look for in a romance—a strong heroine, an intriguing plot, stellar world building, and an Alpha hero who is nearly, but not quite, perfect. Myrna manages to hold her own against creatures several times her size in a believable way. The idea of dragons created by human error is a clever twist on folklore and the author’s imagining of what would happen to our future world if fire-breathing beasts were unleashed is equally smart. But this world, heroine, and plot wouldn’t be complete without a hot, mildly tormented Alpha hero and Ms. Christensen delivers. If there's anything in this story to complain about in his book, it's the swift love scene. But even that didn't detract from the overall story. This is a five-star for me, all the way.
